Who Is A Plumber?

What does a plumber do?

What do plumbers do? That depends on what kind of plumbing you’re talking about. If you’re referring to the work that plumbers do in homes, they install and repair pipes that carry water throughout a house. These pipes can be made of copper, steel, plastic or any number of other materials. When you want a new kitchen sink or a new toilet installed, it’s a plumber who gets the job done.

As a plumber, you will be responsible for the installation, repair, and maintenance of the plumbing system in homes, businesses, and public buildings. You will also be responsible for repairing leaks and drainage systems, and working with other tradespeople to ensure the plumbing system operates smoothly. Plumbing can be a rewarding career, and if you enjoy helping others, it could be a good fit for you.

They are one of the most dangerous professions in the world. They are exposed to high levels of noise and heat, and are often working in cramped spaces with little room for error.

5 Different Types of Plumbers

Plumbing involves different types of equipment that allow us to service our homes efficiently.

Understand how the various types of plumbers are different from each other and what their jobs are, and it’ll be easier to decide

You can find different kinds of plumbing technicians below:

Commercial plumber

Plumbers are qualified plumbers who work in commercial settings.

Most commercial plumbers work in schools, hospitals, colleges and manufacturing plants and are excellent at their jobs because of their technical knowledge and experience.

If you have any plumbing problems you want to get fixed, hire a registered Plumber. They’ll be able to install, maintain and repair your tank and pipes, as well as other home improvements and fixtures.

Service and repair plumber

Plumbing service and repair professionals work with people to help them get their home or business back up and running.

These plumbers get their technical training and experience from school and on the job. They get their on-the-job training from doing the job.

They can perform common jobs like repairing leaks, adjusting pipe pressure, removing blockages, and cleaning plumbing systems and fixtures.

Residential plumber

A residential plumber is a plumber who works in a home or apartment.

Plumbing techs are generally handy, they install plumbing systems from the small scale and the residential to the large scale.

Plumbing is related to the plumbing systems found in the home. They can repair anything from the plumbing systems to water systems.

Sanitary plumber

A sanitary plumber is a specialist who specializes in plumbing roles that relate to sanitation systems.

These plumbers are most common because they are the most likely to come to your home when you have a problem related to your sanitary system.

Plumbing technicians install and repair bathroom and toilet plumbing, fix and install blocked drains, check and maintain sewer and drainage systems, and work on hot-water systems.

Water supply plumber

A water supply plumber is a plumbing technician who specializes in helping to repair and maintain water supply systems.

Your water supply plumber will perform common duties such as installing and repairing water supply systems, but they also will repair pipes and sanitation systems.

Some water supply plumbers may also perform basic residential plumbing roles, like unblocking kitchen, toilets and bath drains.

Plumber Skills

  • Independence

You must enjoy working alone, this is a fairly solitary job.

Whether you work for a big company or as a sole trader, you’re likely to make phone calls on your own

Independent workers have lots of advantages: they’re self-reliant, flexible, and free to work where and when

You decide how to do something, without having someone else looking over your shoulder.

  • Fitness

You should be in great shape to make this work. You’ll have to like working with your hands and being on your feet

If you can’t stand the thought of sitting in a desk all day, this is a great active lifestyle for you.

The only thing that keeps us fit is being active.

While you don’t need to be a professional athlete, you should be physically fit enough to spend a lot of time on your feet.

  • Hand-eye coordination

Your plumbing skills should include the ability to see where you are working, to have strong hand eye coordination, and to ensure you are safe

  • Outdoorsiness

This may include working in different types of weather, and sometimes working at heights.

Anyone who likes the outdoors can do this job. You just need to be comfortable with heights, and have no fear of.

What does a plumber do?

  • People skills

It is important to develop good interpersonal skills because it will be very difficult to get along with your boss, coworkers, or your customers if you do not.

While this isn’t strictly plumbing, but it’s an important personal skill. It’ll improve your job prospects if you have this skill.

Why can’t I fix or install my own plumbing?

Plumbing is more complex than it seems. It’s not just a matter of turning a handle to fill the tub, it’s a highly regulated business with strict health standards. It’s important to take the proper precautions to prevent damage to human health and the environment, such as ensuring that sewage and waste are managed safely. Natural gas and liquid petroleum gas (LPG) are extremely flammable. They’re highly dangerous and need special handling precautions to avoid igniting or exploding.

There are regulations that exist to ensure that the water in your hot water tank is safe for drinking. It needs to be at a certain temperature so that it does not support the growth of dangerous legionella bacteria. At the same time, your plumbing also needs to incorporate valves that prevent the water from getting too hot coming out from the shower.

All of these conditions and precautions are just a sample of why any and all plumbing must be done by a licensed plumber in Australia.
